Samar-Tacloban Leyte Trip, Philippines
One of the places in the Philippines vastly devastated by Super Typhoon Haiyan back in 2013.
Its my privilege that i have visited this place. Having an adventurous feet we decided to travel by land to experience different places along the way. You can reach the place by Plane, there were available flights going to Tacloban.
San Juanico Bridge
One of the strongest structure that remained stronger after the Typhoon. It was started to built in the year 1969, completed in 1973. Built by the former President of the Philippines, Ferdinand Marcos.
The McArthur Landing Memorial National Park
This commemorates the historic landing of General Douglas MacArthur in Leyte Gulf in the year 1944. This led to the largest naval battle of world war II and after almost 3 years, japan's eventual defeat. It is located in Palo, Leyte.
M/V Eva Jocelyn a commercial vessel that was driven ashore at Tacloban during the Typhoon causing to run aground. This ship was now turned into a mini park called M/V Eva Jocelyn Shrine located in Barangay Anibong, Tacloban, Leyte
The place was worth a visit. As a traveler, it is not just about setting foot in a certain place but to be one with the people and feel also their struggles. These are the photos that i have taken a year after the Typhoon.
Still praying for the people of Tacloban. Good thing, our new President is making efforts to build their new houses.
Yes, I set foot to the place and it's the place that leaves footprints in my heart. Thanks for reading. :) Book now travel.
